Blades of Glory
I must confess that I use men's razors and I love them! The problem is that in my town if you dont buy them when the coupon deals come out then your not getting one. They go fast here, almost always they are sold out of the drug stores by Monday. So here is a tip to give new life to your current razor until you can snag one at the store. "Shave" the strike side of a box of matches a few times. (The large matchbox works the best) Your blades should be re-sharpened and ready for duty!
Couponing Heaven this Week
Ok so we all have those weeks. When nothing seems to go right and its day after day of wrong. Well this week was my everything is right week! As far as couponing that is lol! In my area there are good deals to be had but it can be difficult to get them. The Wal-Mart in our area seems to make their own coupon rules as they go along. Sometimes however you get that one amazing checker that does not huff and deny your coupon skills. With a pocket of coupons and a short list we headed into Wal-Mart on a mission. The blinders were on and we were sticking to the list! 3 boxes of laxatives (yeah I know), 1 package of Wet Ones, a gallon of milk, a 12pk of coke, a trial size aquafresh toothpaste and a roll of paper towels(it seems like there was something else but I dont remember). For the first time ever, due to a great checker, we were allowed to use the overage from our coupons toward the other items. Then my husband scanned his employee discount. After that the store OWED us $0.10! We were thrilled to say the least. Then our luck continued at CVS. We had 3 ECBs that we held onto from a previous deal. I applied those along with coupons to pay $1 total for 4 Nivea lip treatments (on sale for $2.50 each)! Since we bought 4 Nivea products we recieved 5 ECBs back and another 1.50 ECB for our end of quarter savings. I turned around and used those 6.50 in ECBs and a coupon of course and only had to pay $1.07 for Huggies Pull-up diapers! WOOT! I still feel like dancing!
Chicken Today Dinner Tomorrow
Chicken on its last leg?...actually it was a couple of breasts lol! I found I had some chicken that needed to be dealt with in the freezer. I boiled the breasts and cut into chunks the day before yesterday. So once again it was looking grim for the chicken today since my husband planned to make his yummy manacotti. I wasn't about to turn the chance down for a cooking day off for a little chicken! So since it was use it or toss it time I decided to try a new recipe. Ashlynn helped me throw together a meal for tomorrow and save the chicken from the trash. Hopefully, it turns out well but if not I only have my own procrastination to blame!
Creamy Chicken a.k.a. Chicken Saver
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. parm. cheese
1/2 tsp. pepper
Whatever veggies you have on hand. (I had frozen corn and I cut in a few carrots)
Pinch of salt
1 pound of chicken
Your choice of noodles. (We will be using 1/2 a box of penne)
Brown chicken and cut into pieces. Cook the pasta as directed on the package and set aside. Add soup, milk, cheese, pepper & veggies to your chicken and heat in skillet until hot. Add pasta to chicken mixture and stir. Plate and top with a sprinkling of parm. cheese.
If you are freezing the meal like I am then I would not worry about the pasta. Leave it in the box until you are going to make the meal. If you add them and then freeze you will end up with squishy mushy noodles.

Fresh Margarita Mix
A perfect example of my 'About Me' rambling! While creating this blog I was smacked with one of Life's Bananas (By that I mean an unexpected funny moment). This banana was tossed by my 6 yr old daughter. I was just designing away on this very blog when she walks in and sits down beside me. Then out of nowhere up pops the question....."Mommy what does erectile mean?" Smack! I about fell of the couch. This one was unexpected to say the least so a simple answer was all that was required, "Oh...well....hey what is brother doing?". Crisis averted! I know there are some that will not agree with my tactics but that one fell straight out of the palm. Yes I am still stretching the banana thing. lol! So while I am not a big drinker by any means I thought this merited at least a drink recipe. Enjoy!
Super simple fresh margarita mix:
Super simple fresh margarita mix:

| Mix until sugar is well-dissolved |
You can add in 1 1/2 oz. of Tequila and 1 oz. of Triple Sec to finish it off or "juice" it up to your hearts content. Dont forget to rim the glass in salt or sugar!
